A garden on the property of Bunny Williams’ Connecticut home. Lush, inviting, alive. A refuge from the humdrum of the world. It doesn’t gets more beautiful than this.

A tablescape by Life on Virginia Street. So simple, yet fun! The rustic table, striped placemats and lemons scattered across make for a thoroughly inviting table. Summer, zesty, fun.
It's an interesting time right now because everyone in the family is at home together - at ALL times. You have parents working, kids studying, and little ones entertaining themselves - sometimes all in the same room! Let’s say we flipped the home office concept on it’s head for a minute, and thought of it as more of a co-working space for the adults (laptops and coffee mugs in tow!) and/or a common study area for the older kids? What might that look like?
There would need to be a spacious table (seats 4-6), casual but comfy chairs, a storage solution for office/study supplies, some good lighting. And finally, your rug, curtains & accents to finish off!
I’ve pulled together 2 ways to create a dedicated work/study area like this, but keeping the main elements the same and simply changing up the accents! Sophisticated & chic. Or playful & family-friendly. Which one do you prefer?
Main elements - white table (Ikea, a longer one here) / tulip chairs / feather pendant light / cube storage / cube storage baskets
Accents - wasabi curtains / navy damask rug / brush strokes table lamp (a more affordable one at Target) / fabric (seat cushion covers)
Main elements - same as above
Accents - damask curtains / orange striped rug / white ceramic lamp / art (such a fun one!)
With it still being bright and beautiful outside at 7pm, what better time than now to dream up what we’d want to step out in, on a beautiful summer day? :) Summer essentials - that’s what we’re getting on the blog today. Let’s see, what would be on our list -
Casual dresses
Sandals (love Ancient-Greeks!)
Blue shirts
Sunglasses
Totes
Denims
Drop earrings
Straw bags
And a petite bucket bag or two!
I’m loving the mood. It's practical, easy & chic!
Continuing the blue theme from yesterday, thought I’d do a throwback today, to pictures of our bedroom. Here’s the original post. Still love seeing this pretty garden wallpaper every morning, it makes me happy! :)

A few posts ago I’d shared the plan for our bedroom and the elements I was looking to bring into the room. Well, here’s a few snapshots as it stands today! Still some things to add (runner, wall art etc.), but thought I’d share a few glimpses with ya’ll.
The bedside. Framed panels of Thibaut’s Giselle wallpaper which I fell in love with. I knew I wanted to have it in the room in some way. So serene and beautiful. I love waking up to these every morning!
The white nightstands I’d picked up at a vintage shop (originally black) and refinished with white paint and adding on these cool brass ring pulls.(here’s how I went about it)
A wide shot of the room (excuse the lighting & styling - it’s not the best!)
Love these crystal lamps. And one of my favorite books (which also makes for a a great accent because of it’s chic jacket) “I Married Adventure”.
Instead of the trio of sunburst mirrors, I decided to go with this pretty, antique gold, Victorian mirror.
Love these abstract seascapes in simple gold frames.
The quatrefoil bordered bedding I’d found at a local discount shop. (By “local” I mean it was still 50 miles away and my sweet husband and I drove over to pick it up as they had only 1 left & it was at that location. And our car broke down on the return!) Ha ha, makes for a good story. I love them so much!
